Hebrew School

Jewish Studies encompasses many aspects. The most obvious are to deepen a student's ability to eventually take his or her place as an adult in the Jewish community. We also want to teach our students to think beyond performance to meaning in their lives now and into the future. We give our students personalized attention and have the flexibility to tailor lessons to the needs of our students. The greatest secret for our school's success is our love and commitment to the Jewish students of today, who will be the Jewish leaders of tomorrow. You have our pledge to do our best for them. We welcome the challenge and look forward to joining together with you in this coming year.

Little Learners

Wednesdays 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Our Little Learners Program provides age-appropriate activities that pre-school age children can enjoy. We design hands-on experiences which both parents and children can share while learning about Jewish Holidays,  Life-Cycle events, music, art, history, cooking and more.

Grades 1 - 3

Saturdays 10:15 am - 12:15 pm

Our integrated program combines the use of age-appropriate textbooks, workbooks, field trips and hands-on activities with communal events and programs such as Mitzvah Day, Shabbat Services, and Holiday Celebrations. Our "secret" ingredient is the involvement of the family. Parental support is crucial. Our students will benefit from your ongoing interest and involvement.

Grades 4 - 6

Saturdays 10:15 am - 12:15 pm

Wednesdays 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

We are increasing parental involvement. You will be invited to participate in services, workshops and programming with your student or as an adult learner throughout the year. Each Shabbat morning we combine a Shabbat friendly class with prayer review, synagogue skill practice and synagogue participation.

Bar & Bat Mitzvah

Grades  7-8

Saturdays 10:15 am - 12:15 pm

Wednesdays 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

In addition to Synagogue Skills, Jewish Studies, Jewish History, Israel and other subjects, students preparing to become a Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah spend time studying individually with Rabbi Berman and Cantor Brooks to prepare them for the special service which he or she will help to lead on the special day the community celebrates and welcomes him or her into Religious and Spiritual adulthood.

Confirmation

Grades 9-12

Wednesdays 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Students in these classes study with Rabbi Berman. The main overall topic is Jewish Identity. This theme is explored through lessons in Israel and Jewish History, Prayer, Synagogue Skills and Introduction to Text Study.
